Meet Our Director: 

Angela Witt founded the Home School Band of Kansas City in 2012 after local parents approached her looking for a way to get their homeschooled students into a band program.

She holds a B.S. in Instrumental Music Education from the University of Missouri and previously served as a public school band director in both the Belton and Lee's Summit school districts. After stepping away from public education to focus on raising her family, Angela remained deeply active in the local music community. She performs as a bassoonist with the Kansas City Wind Symphony and the Spirit of Independence Concert Band, and has taught private instrumental lessons out of her home studio for over 30 years.

Angela is passionate about providing homeschool students with a rich ensemble experience, fostering both musical excellence and a lifelong love of music.
